Are your used machines inspected before sale, and are hours, deck condition, and known issues disclosed?
Yes. Every used machine sold through Koenig Equipment is inspected by our service technicians before it goes on the lot, and issues found during that inspection are addressed before the machine is offered for sale. Hour meter readings are verified against the machine's service history when records are available. For details on a specific unit, such as a mower deck or a specific known repair, ask your salesperson, who can tell you what was inspected and what service history exists for that machine.
What our inspection covers
When we take in a used machine, our technicians go through it before it is listed. That inspection covers:
- Engine
- Hydraulics
- Electrical system
- Transmission
- Wear items such as belts, blades, and tires
Problems identified in that process are addressed before the machine is offered for sale. That reconditioning step is a big part of why our used inventory is trusted, and it is the main difference between buying from us and buying from a private seller, who has no obligation to inspect anything.
Are hour meters accurate?
Hour meter tampering is a real problem in the used equipment market, which is why we do not take a reading at face value. We pull service records when they are available and compare the hour meter against the machine's history. If a unit came to us as a trade with a documented service record, we can usually speak to how the hours line up. If records are thin on an older machine, we will tell you that honestly rather than guess.
Is the mower deck checked?
Blades and belts are wear items covered in our inspection, and the deck is part of what our technicians go through on a mower. If you are looking at a specific unit, like an older front mower or a diesel zero-turn, ask about the deck condition directly. Your salesperson can tell you what was inspected when the unit came into inventory and whether any recent repairs were done.
Will a known issue be disclosed?
Issues found during inspection are addressed before sale, not hidden. For anything you want to confirm about a particular machine, the most reliable step is to ask. Our team can share available service history, recent repairs, and what was inspected on that unit, and if you have a specific concern, we can help you understand what you are seeing. If you cannot get to the store, you can also ask the location that has the machine for a video before you travel.
How to check on a specific unit
- Browse our used equipment listings and note the stock number of the unit you like.
- Check which of our locations has the machine.
- Contact that store and ask about hours, deck condition, service history, and what was done during inspection.
- If a matching machine is not listed yet, tell your salesperson what you are looking for. Popular models do not sit long, and we can give you a heads-up when a trade comes in.
