AutoTrac™ Implement Guidance: Maximizing Coverage Accuracy

Learn how AutoTrac™ Implement Guidance reduces gaps and overlaps, ensuring every pass is accurate for better yields and resource savings.

What is AutoTrac™ Implement Guidance?

AutoTrac™ Implement Guidance (ATIG) is a G5 Advanced feature that keeps both the tractor and implement precisely on the intended path, even in challenging terrain or on curved passes. By adjusting the tractor's position to keep the implement exactly where it needs to be, it dramatically reduces guess rows, skips, and overlaps.

Why Use Implement Guidance?

  • Consistent Passes in Every Condition: Whether on sidehills, field contours, or irregular end rows, implement guidance ensures the implement stays true to the guidance line—even when the tractor’s path would normally cause drift.

  • Reduced Wasted Inputs: Keeping the implement on target saves seed, fertilizer, and chemicals by eliminating double coverage and missed spots.

  • Better Crop Emergence and Yields: Consistent spacing and accurate row placement mean uniform crop stands and maximum productivity.

  • Operator Confidence: With ATIG, there’s less worry about complex field shapes or challenging conditions—operators can focus on performance, not constant corrections.

How It Works

AutoTrac™ Implement Guidance continuously monitors the actual position of the implement and makes real-time steering adjustments to the tractor to ensure the implement is always following the guidance path previously set by AutoPath™ or another guidance solution.

Setup and Best Practices

  1. Verify Hardware and G5 Advanced Activation:
Ensure your machine and implement are equipped for implement guidance and that your G5 Advanced license is active.

  2. Input Accurate Measurements:
Enter implement and tractor dimensions correctly—this is crucial for precision guidance.

  3. Engage Implement Guidance in the Display:
Navigate to the Implement Guidance menu on your G5 CommandCenter or Universal display to enable and configure guidance mode.

  4. Test and Calibrate:
Perform an in-field check to confirm the implement stays on track, especially at field edges, curves, and headlands.

  5. Fine-Tune Settings:
Adjust system sensitivities or offsets as needed to maintain optimal accuracy across varying conditions.
