Row cleaners play a critical role in seedbed preparation, helping to move crop residue out of the way for optimal planting. With the SeedStar 4HP Planter, the easy adjust row cleaner system lets you fine-tune performance from your in-cab display—making setup and adjustments straightforward and efficient.

Getting Started: Accessing Row Cleaner Controls

  • Begin at the SeedStar Planter Overview Run Page on your display.

  • Locate and select the row cleaner icon to enter the setup interface.

  • The main screen shows two displays:

    • Wing Sections: Settings for row cleaners on planter wings.

    • Center Section: Settings for cleaners at the center.

  • Each section's target pressure and position are displayed for easy monitoring.

Operating the Row Cleaners

Raising and Lowering Row Cleaners:

  • The interface shows whether row cleaners are raised or lowered.

  • To lower, select the "lower row cleaner" icon and confirm when prompted.

  • View and adjust down pressure (wing and center sections) and up pressure (both types are controlled by airbags).

Pressure Settings:

  • Each row uses two airbags:

    • Down pressure airbag: Pushes row cleaner downward.

    • Up pressure airbag: Pushes row cleaner upward.

  • Set center and wing section pressures independently, or sync them if conditions call for uniform adjustment.

Creating and Using Presets On-the-Go

Why Use Presets?

  • Conditions change across fields—presets let you quickly adapt row cleaner aggressiveness.

  • For lighter residue, set a preset with less down pressure and/or more up pressure (row cleaner rides higher).

  • For heavier residue, set a preset with more down pressure and/or less up pressure (more aggressive cleaning).

How to Use Presets:

  • Presets are selectable directly from the display.

  • To change presets:

    • Choose the desired preset.

    • Confirm the movement.

    • The system updates target pressures automatically.

  • Easily flip between up to three presets as you work.

Customizing Pressure & Section Settings

  • Adjust pressures by moving sliders for wing, center, or up/down airbag pressure.

  • Each adjustment requires confirmation before the system applies changes.

  • Use the sync option to combine wing and center sections for unified adjustment—useful for uniform field conditions.

Advanced Row Cleaner Settings

Access Advanced Settings for more control over your system:

  • Master On/Off: Toggle row cleaners completely on or off.

  • Preset Reset: Restore your presets to factory defaults if needed.

  • Step Size Adjustment: Change how much pressure adjusts per button press (default is 3psi—can be changed).

  • Disable Up Pressure Adjustment: Turn off up pressure control if your conditions require it.
