How do Precision Essentials license tiers and renewals work?
Precision Essentials is a John Deere hardware kit plus a software license you choose. One upfront cost covers the hardware: a G5 or G5Plus display, a StarFire™ 7500 receiver and a JDLink™ M or R modem. The license is what turns on the features you use, and you pick the one that fits your operation.
The four license options
- AutoTrac™: AutoTrac guidance. Comes with a 2-year license with the initial purchase.
- Essentials: AutoTrac, Section Control and RowSense™. 1-year license.
- Essentials + SF-RTK: everything in Essentials plus SF-RTK correction, for long-term repeatability and up to 2.5 cm accuracy. 1-year license.
- Advanced: includes SF-RTK and adds AutoTrac Implement Guidance, AutoTrac Turn Automation, AutoPath™, In-Field Data Sharing and Machine Sync. 1-year license.
How renewals work
The AutoTrac license starts with a 2-year term, and after that a 1-year license is optional. The Essentials, Essentials + SF-RTK and Advanced options each require a 1-year license. You are not required to buy multiple years of a license.
Which option fits?
If you mostly want help driving straight lines, AutoTrac may be all you need. If you spray, plant or seed and want to cut skips and overlaps, Essentials adds Section Control. If your passes need to line up year after year, SF-RTK is the piece that matters. Advanced is for operations that want more automation and want machines sharing information in the field.
What the price covers
The kit price includes the hardware. It does not include taxes, harness, wiring or installation, and the license is an additional fee. Availability is limited while supplies last. Ask your Koenig store for current pricing on the kit and each license.
