How to Import Setup Data into a John Deere Gen 4 Display

Easily Transfer Field and Equipment Information Using a USB Drive

Importing setup information into your John Deere Generation 4 Display helps keep your field and equipment data up-to-date, ensuring smooth operation and accurate record-keeping. This guide walks you through each step of the process using a USB drive, based on expert instructions from Koenig Equipment.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Insert the USB Drive

    • Plug your USB drive containing setup data into the display’s USB port.

    • A pop-up screen will appear on your Gen 4 Display.

  2. Select Import Data

    • On the pop-up, tap "Import Data."

    • You’ll be asked where to import from: select "USB Drive."

      • Tip: If your machine is equipped with wireless data transfer, you could also import receipt files directly from John Deere Operations Center.

  3. Choose Data Profiles

    • The display will list all available profiles found on your USB drive.

    • Select the setup files or profiles you want to import.

    • You can import more than one profile at a time, if needed.

  4. Review Setup Data

    • View what data will be imported—this may include guidance tracks, boundaries, prescriptions, and more.

    • Make sure everything you want is selected with a check mark.

    • Tap "Import."

  5. Finalize Import

    • After importing, you’ll see a message confirming the data was successfully imported.

    • Select "OK," then close out of the menu.

    • Remove your USB drive.

Important Notes

  • Existing Data Is Not Deleted: Unlike previous models (such as the 2630 Display), the Generation 4 Display does NOT overwrite your current setup information when you import new data. It simply adds new or updated information alongside what’s already there.

  • Efficiency: This allows you to add, update, or supplement your setup files without losing existing configurations.

Common Questions

  • Can I import directly from John Deere Operations Center?

    • Yes, if your machine supports wireless data transfer, you can import receipt files directly without a USB.

  • Will importing erase my current setup?

    • No—any new data added will not overwrite what is already stored on your Gen 4 Display.

  • What kinds of data can be imported?

    • Guidance tracks, field boundaries, prescriptions, profiles, and setup configurations.
