How to Maintain Rubber Tracks on a John Deere Compact Track Loader

Rubber tracks are key to performance, especially in soft or uneven terrain. Keep your tracks at proper tension and cleaned to ensure best performance.

Track Maintenance Tips:

  • Check Track Tension Weekly: Loose tracks increase wear and risk derailing. Refer to your operator’s manual for ideal tension specs.
  • Clean Out Debris: Mud, rocks, and sticks can wedge between rollers and tracks, causing premature damage.
  • Avoid Sharp Turns on Hard Surfaces: Excessive counter-rotation wears out tread quickly.
  • Inspect Lugs and Tread: Look for cracking, delamination, or chunking.
  • Store on Flat, Dry Surfaces: When idle, park on clean ground to avoid flat-spotting.

When to Replace:
Replace tracks when the tread is worn flat or the inner lugs are cracked, torn, or separating. Need to replace your tracks? Contact Koenig
