How to Monitor Machine Alerts and Diagnostics in John Deere Operations Center
Catch equipment issues early and cut downtime
Operations Center makes it easy to see machine alerts and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from anywhere, so you can react before a small issue becomes a breakdown. With JDLink‑connected equipment, alerts flow automatically into your account and can even notify you on your phone when something needs attention.
What machine alerts and diagnostics show you
When your machines are connected through JDLink, they continuously send health and status information to Operations Center. This includes engine performance, fuel level, DEF level, and diagnostic codes that appear as alerts when something needs attention.
From Operations Center and related apps, you can:
-
View active and recent machine alerts and diagnostic trouble codes for each connected machine.
-
See key indicators like fuel and DEF levels, engine hours, and idle time on machine cards.
-
Track patterns in alerts over time to spot recurring issues or machines that may need deeper inspection.
This information helps you decide if an operator can finish the field, needs to stop immediately, or should head toward the shop.
How to view alerts and machine health
Once JDLink and Operations Center are set up, checking alerts is quick.
-
Open John Deere Operations Center (web or mobile) and go to your list of machines.
-
Select the machine you’re concerned about to open its machine card.
-
Look for the Alerts or Machine Health area, which shows current alerts and recent diagnostic codes.
-
Click or tap an alert to see more detail, including the code, description, and when it occurred.
-
Use this information to decide next steps—continue running, slow down, adjust operation, or schedule service.
In many cases, your dealer can also see alerts (with your permission) and use remote diagnostics to help identify root causes before a technician heads to the field.
Setting up notifications so you don’t miss issues
To stay ahead of problems, it helps to configure alerts and notifications that match your priorities.
-
Turn on push notifications or email alerts in Operations Center Mobile or Equipment Mobile so you’re notified when certain types of alerts occur.
-
Use JDLink settings to configure alerts for excessive idle time, geofencing, curfews, or other behaviors that matter for your operation.
-
Review alert history periodically to decide if software updates, operator training, or preventative maintenance changes are needed.
This combination of real‑time alerts and historical insight supports more proactive maintenance and better uptime.
