How to Prepare the Battery for Storage
Make sure your battery is ready for winter storage by being prepared.
Start by disconnecting the negative cable first, followed by the positive, to safely remove the battery from your John Deere mower. Clean any corrosion from the posts and terminals using a wire brush and baking soda solution for a secure connection later.
Fully charge the battery before storage—a charged lead-acid battery resists freezing much better than a discharged one and maintains its health over months.
