How to Remove the Front Loader from a John Deere 2038R

Needing to lighten your tractor or switch to mowing? Here’s how to detach the 220R front loader:

Start the tractor and lower the loader boom until the front wheels just begin to lift. This relieves pressure on the latches.
Disengage both latches on either side of the loader frame.
Put the tractor in neutral and pull the loader joystick to raise the park stand and slide the loader off.
Release pressure from the hydraulic lines by moving the loader joystick back and forth.
Disconnect the color-coded hydraulic hoses and cap both ends to keep them clean.

Now your tractor is ready for lawn or other work without the loader attached.
