How to Unfold the Planter on a John Deere SeedStar 3HP Planter

Step-by-Step Guide Using the Display

Unfolding your John Deere SeedStar 3HP planter is a quick and straightforward process when using the 26-30 display in your cab. Follow the instructions below to ensure safe and correct unfolding, getting you ready for planting with minimal hassle.

Steps to Unfold Your Planter

  1. Access the Display Menu

    • On the 26-30 display, select Main Menu.

    • Choose Planter Auxiliary, then tap the Frame tab.

  2. Enter Transport Mode

    • Confirm you are in Transport Mode.

    • At the bottom of the menu, select Transport Mode.

  3. Lower the Winged Wheels

    • Turn Winged Wheel Lift ON.

    • Use SDV #1 (your selective control valve) to lower the winged wheels.

    • Lower your tractor’s three-point hitch, then again use SDV #1 to fully lower the winged wheels.

  4. Activate Wing Fold

    • Once the winged wheels are fully lowered, turn Winged Wheel Lift OFF.

    • Switch Wings Fold ON.

  5. Prepare the Tractor for Unfolding

    • Make sure your tractor is in Neutral so it can roll as necessary.

  6. Unfold the Planter

    • Use SDV #1 to begin unfolding the planter.

  7. Finalize Setup

    • Once the planter is unfolded, turn Wings Fold OFF.

    • Select Plant Mode when ready to begin planting.

  • Always confirm that all bystanders are clear of the implement before unfolding.

  • Make sure the tractor is stable and on level ground.
