How to Use Custom Control Buttons on S700 Series Combines

A step-by-step guide for operators wanting to optimize workflow with custom controls.

Learn how to use the customizable control buttons and scroll wheel on your John Deere S700 Series Combine. This guide will help you take full advantage of these features to adjust combine settings quickly and easily, letting you stay focused on the task at hand.

What Are Custom Control Buttons?

Custom control buttons on the S700 combine allow you to assign specific functions—like platform angle adjustments or belt speed changes—to buttons for one-touch control.

  • Button 1 and Button 2: Can be programmed for actions such as feeder house adjustments, platform tilt, or draper belt speed.

  • Hydro Handle Scroll Wheel: Enables navigation through run pages and can also close out windows and warnings.

Getting Started: Before Operation

  • Unlock Controls: Each time you start the machine, you will need to unlock the side controls on the console and the hydro handle to begin making adjustments.

  • Exit Setup: After configuring button functions, close out of the controls setup screen.
