How to Use the Map in John Deere Operations Center to See Your Fields and Equipment

Quickly check machine location and status from anywhere

The map in John Deere Operations Center gives you a live view of your fields and connected machines so you always know where work is happening. From one screen, you can see field progress and whether equipment is working, idling, or transporting, which makes coordinating people and machines much easier.

What the Operations Center map shows you

When your machines are connected with a supported JDLink modem, their location and status update on the map roughly every 5 seconds. You can quickly tell which machines are actively working, which are idling, and which are moving between fields or down the road.

The map also lets you:

  • View your fields as a simple, color‑coded layer to see what type of work was last completed (tillage, seeding, application, or harvest).

  • Click a field to see basic details like crop, acres, and recent activity, helping you understand where each job stands today.

  • Filter the view by machine, field, or work type so you can focus on one part of the operation at a time.

This gives you a quick “command center” view without driving to each field or making multiple phone calls.

How to view your machines on the map

Once your account and equipment are set up, checking your fleet on the map is straightforward.

  1. Sign in to John Deere Operations Center on the web or mobile app.

  2. Open the Map view; you’ll see fields and any active or recently active machines.

  3. Look for machine icons that show:

    • Current position on the map.

    • Status (working, idle, or transporting).

  4. Select a machine icon to zoom in and see more detail, such as when it last moved or worked.

In Operations Center Mobile, you can tap a machine and quickly see where it is, what it’s doing, and where it’s headed next, which is especially helpful when you’re away from the office.

Practical ways to use the map every day

Growers often use the map as their first screen in the morning and last check at night. Common uses include:

  • Confirming that machines are in the right fields and started on schedule.

  • Seeing when a planter or sprayer finishes one field so you can line up tender trucks or the next job.

  • Checking for machines that are idling too long so you can address delays and improve utilization.

Because the map updates so frequently, you can make decisions in real time instead of reacting after the day is over.
