Replacing a defective fuel gauge on your mower

Step-by-step walk through to replace a defective fuel gauge on your mower.

  1. Gather Tools and Materials - Compatible replacement fuel gauge, screwdriver set, wrench set, safety gloves and glasses, owner’s manual
  2. Disconnect the Battery - Disconnect the battery to avoid electrical issues. Remove the negative terminal first, then the positive.
  3. Access the Fuel Gauge - Find the fuel gauge on the dashboard or fuel tank. You might need to remove a panel.
  4. Remove the Defective Fuel Gauge - Disconnect wiring, remove screws or bolts, and gently pull out the gauge.
  5. Install the New Fuel Gauge - Insert the new gauge, secure it with screws or bolts, and reconnect wiring.
  6. Reconnect the Battery - Reconnect the battery, starting with the positive terminal.
  7. Test the New Fuel Gauge - Run your mower and check the gauge for accuracy.
