- Dashboard Warning: A lit battery light suggests a battery or charging system issue.
- Swelling or Leakage: Check for swelling, leakage, or corrosion, which signal replacement.
- Battery Age: Batteries last 3-5 years. Replace if nearing the end of life.
How to Replace a Battery
- Gather Tools: Replacement battery, wrench set, safety gloves, and glasses.
- Prepare: Turn off equipment and disconnect the battery, starting with the negative terminal.
- Remove Old Battery: Remove hold-downs and lift out the battery.
- Install New Battery: Secure the new battery and reconnect terminals, starting with the positive.
- Test: Start the equipment to ensure the battery works.
